I'm 31 yrs old now, and i've kept detailed diaries since I was 8. They contain all kinds of things i'd never want another soul to read, but I can't throw them away. They help remind me of how things used to be. See, I have a brain tumor, and it's really messed up my memory, so this is the only way I can remember. And there is some wacky stuff in there, believe me.
My great worry is that when I die, someone will read them. They would never think the same of me. I've asked my relatives to burn them if I die- but I don't really trust they can resist reading them. How would you handle this situation?

Perhaps the bankers can help.
They have this "Safe custody" for receiving articles safe keeping, like property documents, shares , stock etc...
They also accept instructions for disposal, with reasonable conditions as stipulations.
Perhaps they may burn it when the person is reported 'dead', as per the wishes of the person requesting safe custody of diaries. (It could be packed sealed and delivered, needing the sealing to be done in their presence for security reasons, perhaps). There is an audit system in banks to ensure that the customer's interests are protected, making the diaries tamper proof. All this for a reasonable charge, fee too.

Well I have thought about this too as I have several journals myself....dating from my early 20 to my 40's. What does one do with the writings from one's soul? Placing them in a lock box would certainly be better than nothing I suppose but still, if a relative or friend wanted to get at them, they'd find a way. Curiosity.......it's a strange thing.
Perhaps bury them........
Truly, the only sure fire way of securing the confidentiality of the words and thoughts written within.......is to burn them.

No matter how you lock anything up, once your dead you have no control over it and if someone wants to get in it, they will find a way. You have a choice, destroy them now or get over it and realize they will be read by someone once you die. By the way, who cares what someone thinks of you once you die. Provided you are saved, you will be in Heaven and the last thing you will be thinking about is your diaries.

just to make sparkling, and that i'm not announcing which you have Bipolar, yet those with that disease (i'm lined) additionally experience depressed. it extremely is a temper disease, meaning that they'd't administration fluctuations between manic levels and depressed levels. So, once you assert "I do nevertheless experience unhappy and irritable, nevertheless get crying spells and nevertheless experience drained each in particular circumstances (this is why i know it incredibly is not bipolar, as many people look to point on right here)," it certainly makes it sound extra like Bipolar to me. initially i became into misdiagnosed as having substantial melancholy, yet such as you i began out to notice bouts of potential and mania, and correcting the prognosis has been extremely useful. each in particular circumstances it incredibly is extremely not hassle-free to tell the variation between Bipolar (fairly Bipolar II) and substantial melancholy. Your description, "unexpected bursts of potential, unexpected bouts of cases the place i've got self assurance like i could communicate and snort etc. i've got been doing issues that i could in no way be stricken to do before, like beginning video diaries on youtube, tidying the abode, wanting to circulate on highway journeys and such, write diaries etc." extremely strikes abode. purely some nutrition for concept, and honestly some thing to speak to a psychiatrist approximately, as a results of fact he or she would be waiting to ask extra questions and be sure precisely what's happening.

You could put it in your will that no one is to read them and give instructions to burn them when you die. If you don't trust them you could by a lock box at the bank and store them there and have a lawyer dispose of them when you die.

I would hide it in like the floorboards or the ceiling or something, that way since you don't trust your family to burn them they won't be able to find them and you will still know where they are to read over them later on.

How 'bout storing it in a hollowed out radio or CPU or something like that, where nobody would suspect something's inside, and when you're gone, they'd probably just throw it out thinking its just useless junk.
