Lamest band name? Papa Roach. That's just one crappy title.

Edit: I don't care where they got it from, it's still bad.

Worst band name that I have heard was a punk band from the 80's called Vomiting Pig and the Screaming Weenies.

My vote for worst name, but awesome music is an experimental, ambient band from Las Vegas called Anamorphosis. Most of you normal folk out there will probably hate them with a passion, but to us weirdos that are into underground experimental music, they areTRULY awesome!!

And my vote for the band with a great name, but AWFUL, horrible, absolutely wretched music was an easy choice...
My Chemical Romance!!!
Truly the most boring, common, overrated band that I have ever had to suffer through!!!

And as far as great name, AMAZING music goes, how about
Fantomas, The Locust, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Dog Fashion Disco.
Cheers,

Great name, great music: Rage Against the Machine...**** yeah
Great name, awful music: Slayer, I mean, the name sounds badass, but the music...man, it's gets stale quickly
Awful name, great music: Porcupine Tree...name doesn't make sense at all, but they've provided some good progressive music.
Awful name, terrible music: Panic at the Disco...sounded lame from its name, and the music...oh boy..
