If you look at the polls that compare candidates to those of the other party, Obama is doing better then Hillary. Edwards compares best to the Republican contenders but he is unlikely to win the Democratic primary. The same is true with McCain and the Republicans as his support in a Presidential election is greatly influenced by independents who may be barred from voting in the primary (they usually have to claim a party).
I personally feel that America is beyond race and gender as a primary motivation on who to vote for. As far as hate crime statistics, they are misleading as there is a double standard involved. Rarely will a black person be charged with a hate crime but when a white person wrongs a black person, even the slightest act will be charged as a hate crime. The Jena six are a case in point; a nonquestionable hate crime that was never prosecuted as such.

I don't think he will win the presidency,BUT,he might get to be the vice president, which ain't a bad thing either! More likely Edwards will get the V.P.nod though. Obama is still a young man,and is ahead of his time, give him another 20 years and the rest of the world will catch up to him, unless some dumba$$, red neck, "inbred Jed" shoots him ,but?,,,oh?,,,wha?,,who?,,,Oh well that's me talking "politics" again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
