A good guess from your information is the blower motor is not working. Probable causes are as follows
1. motor is bad.
2. a broken wire between the switch and the motor.
3. the smoke got out.
The basic solution is the same for all three problems. Since a new hair dryer is probably less than $30. get a new one.
"Contrary to popular beliefs, electrical appliances run on smoke not electricity. When the smoke gets out, they're no good and must be replaced." A quote from a repair shop, to convince a customer to replace an item rather than repair it.
4. The impeller is no longer attached to the shaft of the motor.
Same solution.Jim

I am assuming you mean a clothes dryer and not a hair dryer as some other answer seemed to suggest.
If the dryer is getting hot but not circulating air, STOP USING IT and have it repaired immediately.
If it is tumbling but producing no heat, odds are something is wrong with the heating element or the controls for the heating element. There could be a problem with the fuse/circuit breaker as well, though, and you should check that FIRST.
A mechanically inclined person can replace an element fairly easily, but I would not suggest doing this if you feel uncomfortable with the idea - if so, call a repair person.
I am also assuming you have double checked all the settings on the dryer, as some have a separate switch for turning the temperature up or down. My kids have turned the heat off in ours before by changing that setting and it took me a while to notice.

First, ignore the answer from the guy about the smoke getting out. No idea what in tarnation he is talking about. Electrical appliances run on completing an electrical circuit when you turn them on. Doesn't have anything to do with smoke. Sounds like people who call the electrical burners on their range 'eyes'.
Your dryer has an exhaust fan that is not rotating. Until that is fixed your dryer is useless.

The fan is NOT working. It's separate from the tumbler. You should get it serviced right away if it's still producing heat.
