At times online deals are better.. try booking on a week day and not a weekend...
Look around for a hotel that's not such the "hot" spot right now, but still a great hotel, they seem to have better deals.

That depends if you are a gambler or not. Alot of the Vegas strip casinos have other casinos throughout the country and they will comp or discount you on your play at their casinos in vegas.
If you are new to gambling get a card at the place you are staying. They will reduce your bill by the amount of comp points you earn during your visit.
If you are just looking to get up and go, it seems all of the internet sites state the same price. Be warned, if you go on priceline and bid for a 4 star room, you will likely be staying at the Westin which is actually off the strip.
Also traveling in the months of Dec and Jan will give you the best prices provided it is not New Years or during the consmer electronics show

The best info for great Vegas deals can be found on the website called www.cheapovegas.com. There is a whole forum of people telling about deals they just got. They post the "special" codes you may need fot great hotel deals too. Hit it up, i use it.

Spring break is coming up and people flood Vegas this time of year. If you want a good deal you have to go in the off season. The best time is mid August because most people don't want to be in the desert heat even though they spend the majority of their time in the casinos.

I prefer booking at the hotel website directly. They set their rates for the week on Mondays and adjust them during the week based on demand. I would wait and watch, book when it gets in your range and keep watching the website. When the rate drops call and ask them to adjust your rate to what you have seen posted. I did that the first time I went to Vegas. I ended up calling for an adjustment at least twice. They were very nice each time about giving me the lower rate.

The best prices are usually directly through the web site for the hotel/casino and not thrugh hotel.com. Otherwise, use www.lasvegas.com and www.vegas.com for the prices.
If you are planning a trip on a holiday, you have to plan ahead. And be aware that prices at least double for holidays, expecially New Years, and many hotels require a multi-night stay.
