You can get a job. You usually get more freedom if you have been a trustworthy teenager. You can usually get your driving permit or your actual drivers license. Other than that, mom and dad still rule the roost.

I hope your not wanting to leave home at 16. What resources would you have to take care of yourself financially? Your probably thinking "what is she talking about?" But really, think about it. If you leave home, you have to have a place to go to (home), you have to have food to eat (home), you have to have clothes on your back (home) and you have to finish your education (home) There is no reason for you to want to leave home at such an early age unless there is some type of abuse that you have not mentioned.

Good luck! You can spread your wings at 16 but you just can't fly yet! Give it time. Pray alot. It works. I promise.

Depends where you are.

In the UK, for example, you can buy cigarettes at 16. In some US States you can have sex. In some you can drive. In both the US and the UK you can get a pilots license.

Driving was certainly the big one. I'm having trouble thinking of anything else, at least in my life.

I guess the sex thing is true in some states.

In some states you can get a limited drivers license.

Nothing changes. Your dad keeps a closer eye on you, and will beat up any boy that touches you.
