There are boy and girl goldfish

I think they do the boring "pump craploads of sperm into the water and hope it gets in the right place" method of reproduction

not too different from a drunken friday night in many places...

Well, they aren't asexual, the male goldfish and the female goldfish will look pretty different from each other if you look closely.

The male goldfish will have tubercules (white spots) on the fins underneath its gills and on its gill plates. Also the male goldfish's anal vent is flat and straight.

The female goldfish won't have any tubercules and will have an anal the looks as something really tiny is popping out...Anyway the female goldfish will have a round looking belly and will be more active.

You could only tell their gender if they have reached maturity, which is 2 - 3 years of age.

And for Goldfish breeding, the male goldfish will constantly chase the female around the tank nudging her in her anal until she releases the eggs, the male will instantly fertillise them.
Once this has occured, quickly take the eggs out, before the parents eat them :(

Hope this helps!

I agree with kronik joe, expcept for his terminology. A female fish does not have a vagina. She has a vent, and so does the male.

In goldfish, the difference between male and female is in the size and shape of the vent and when ready for spawing, males will get "nuptial tubercles" on their head, body, and fins that look like little bumps.

Details of anatomy on first link, and breeding on second.

There are male and female fish. I had humping fish once and soon after the male died. I figured from a heart attack. The female lays the eggs and the male fish goes to the female eggs .

The females lay the eggs, then the male comes along and fertilizes the eggs.
