Well there are an infinite number of possiblilities in regards to descrepancies for some occurences and that I myself am not knowledgeable but none the less I will attempt to name one I am aware of.

Battle of Noryang - 1598
The battle of Noryang was the last major battle between the Japanese navy and the combined forces of the Josen & Ming navies during the Japanese attempted invasions of Korea during the Seven Years War. During the battle, The Japanese fleet assembled in the Noryang Strait. They were then attacked by Korean and Ming armada and were defeated severely. This ended the war and Japan's attempt to invade Korea and for the Koreans as the successful defense of their land.
