I'm making a collection of a few poems with a nature theme. Any tips on where to find interesting, meaningful, work would be appreciated. The school library is almost no help and I'm having trouble finding good sites.

i can't remember the author, but try looking up: I love a sunburnt country, a land of open plains..... it's about the australian outback so if you're in the US- it'll be different to what your classmates come up with. there's also an alternative version- I love a sunburnt country, a land of open drains, mid-urban sprawl expanded, for cost accounting gains. You see- you get both sides of the coin!!! Good luck!

The first two links below are to individual nature poems by Percy Shelley and William Wordsworth. The third is to a Poetry Foundation archive of more than 1,600 nature poems. You might also want to look up work by Robert Frost, Mary Oliver, and Richard Wilbur, all excellent nature poets.

Haiku are short, expressive and almost always about nature. They are easy to find. Here's one I just stepped on a second ago...

Night air cools the lake
Spiders slow down to admire
The watersnakes float
