OK, so about five years ago my husband and I spent a whole day at the beach. I'd say it was about seven hours. I was eight months pregnant, yes I know, very bad! I was under umbrellas the whole time, yet I still got a really bad sunburn on my back. I had this cut out on the back of my bathing suit. When I went home, I had this big red circle on my back. Painful, let me tell you! It has been five years now and it still hurts so much. My shirt and undergarments do not bother me unless they rub my back. Even if my husband runs his hands or fingers lightly down my back, it still hurts. It feels like I still have a sunburn. I feel like little needles all over my back. Could my back be permanently damaged? The pain only occurs when my back is rubbed.

I had a chemical burn to my ankle (first and second degree) 7 years ago, and I still have bouts where it feels like it's still burned, and wearing any kind of foot wear is painful. Check with your doctor, you may have had some nerve damage to the area. I was given a creme that deadens the area which helps.

I would say as most due to see the doctor for I fell asleep in the sun many years ago and now I have a lot of wrinkles on my chest area from the burn.It is damaging to the skin.
Check it out.

Normally, I would suggest this on a fresh burn, but it would not hurt to try.

Tape some wet tea bags (cold) to the spot on your back. Sleep with them. Try that for a few days and see if it helps. The tanic acid should help them heal.
