this is what the sentence would look like.

The kids obvioulsy pictured him as a monster. Even though he constantly gave them presents....

if i remove the period and replace it with comma will it be a run-on sentence?

You can do either:

Even though he constantly gave them presents, the kids obviously pictured him as a monster.

or

The kids obviously pictured him as a monster even though he constantly gave them presents.

Don't put a period as it will make the last sentence incomplete. You can use even though on the start or middle but you need to follow through with a supporting sentence that compares/reflects or contradicts the main sentence.

You can start a sentence with "even though" if you don't stop too soon. However, unless those three dots at the end of what you've written mean that there's more to the sentence, what you have now is a fragment. If you change the period to a comma and put a period at the end of what's there, you'll have a grammatical compound sentence, not a run-on. You could also turn the sentence around: "Even though he constantly gave them presents, the kids obviously regarded him as a monster."

"The kids obviously pictured him as a monster even though he constantly gave them presents."

If there are more words after presents you should use a semi colon and not a period.

Just remove the period and put in a comma. Or you could say Even though he gave them presents, the kids pictured him as a monster.
