Well, at least in Brooklyn, it was pretty darn fun.

It was a great decade, but not for the reasons you relate. It was a time when we learned:
1. Even the president is vulnerable
2. We were more predjudiced than we knew
3. Most wars are about somebody's bottom line
4. The good often do die young
5. The ideal communal society is probably centuries away
6. Paul is not really dead
7. The Beachboys don't really surf
peace

No, you don't. I lived the 60's and they glorify it in song etc. Our friends were sent to Vietnam and died. Angry generation about the meaningless killings in Nam. Angry and drugged and killers like MANSON .... singing and making love only happened on the fringe. It wasn't a pretty time...it was anti everything and every body. Only the ME generation. Do unto them before they did unto you. PEACE? Ever see the news reels from then? Go to the library and do some honest research. I graduated in 1966!

I lived through the 60's you forgot to mention:

Viet nam war, Drafting of young men fresh out of high school, and Racial riots. Sorry to burst your bubble. The 60's was not all about peace, drugs, love.

I would LOVE to live in the sixties. I swear I was born at the wrong time.

It would be perfect if I was born in 1949 because then I could be a decent age during the sixties and seventies.

I'd rather chill in the '20s. Aside from the whole "women not having equal rights" thing, it was a pretty sweet decade.

Gotta say, I'm not the biggest fan of the '60s. The clothes weren't so great.

no internet
crappy health care
race riots

It was a trip to live through the 60s, but I prefer the 21st century.

No thanks, a bunch of dirty lazy hippies that thought the whole world owed them something and had such a sense of entitlement without doing anything for it, I'll pass, no wonder why that decade screwed this country up so much.
