Not any more. I used to at the beginning, though I never said "Thanks for the 2 points." I always tried to give some kind of real answer. Now I sometimes scroll and scroll before finding one that interests me enough to answer it. This one did actually. Hmmm.
What changed my approach was watching my Best Answer ratio drop because I was answering too many questions that I had no prayer of getting the BA for, just to kill time.
Now I try to just answer ones where I either think I have something good to add or which just pique my interest.

Well I do answer questions just to get points but I answer them with and answer not just something like: I'm here to get points. I actually help that person out because I wouldn't want someone coming over to my question and saying: I'm here for points. Because then what help would I get out of that?

I used to but my answers end up getting so long that it's hardly worth it.
Now I'm just happy to come around and think a little. Answer a few questions that I feel I can somehow relate to and hope at least some of my advice can be used. That in itself seems to carry its own reward.
It's also helpful to view the opinions of others against my own to hopefully improve my knowledge, perspective and ability to relate to larger numbers of people.

Nah, I do not understand why points of are importance, though I just started answering questions tonight. Perhaps, I will do some reading tonight. I simple find writing as a form of self-expression.

Oh oh not me...............I love answering and asking questions and sometimes I get best answers for many questions that the asker didnt really mean to be serious and would comment later on, that he or she didnt think I would take their questions by heart............what the heck then........we come to have fun here, enjoy each others questions and share ideas or viewpoints......so when I get the opportunity to answer a question in any topic, I always do my best to answer,,,now this is another for me to prove to you that I meant to answer your question, not only gor gaining points.............but real sharing from the heart..............

Okay, yeah, I'm guilty. But I always look for the easy or funny questions to get points. But I'm sincere with the serious questions.

Don't know. There is something gratifying about answering. The points are just an added bonus for me I think.

Usually just to answer and help someone...it's fun being chosen as the best answer because you know that out of everyone, that person liked your advice the most :)
