my personal opinion, the first rapper whose swagger became a point of consideration for me is the game. coz he doesnt really have outstanding vocab, delivery or content... he was pretty average on a rapper scale but its just the feel and the attitude he brought that made me like his stuff. before him i didnt consider "swagger" as something that was part of rating an mc because no matter how hard a rapper tried if his lines suck then no amount of posing, attitude and self decorating could change the fact that his rap sucks and he's not worth listening to.
the next rapper whose swagger made me listen is young jeezy... the whole ice cream man movement with the shirts and all that and the energy he brought was infectious and interesting to me

he continues to be cocky, he in simple terms is familiar with now he's the right guy on Smackdown and now has the prospect to instruct extra of his character and not purely be a one-dimensional character. Jack Swagger now gets extra airtime interior the 1st hour of Smackdown, then he have been given in 2 months of shows on uncooked. he's getting the prospect to construct and advance as a character. If he's useful in this attempt, he could be a substantial Eventer for destiny years, if not, then the WWE Bookiing team will circulate him backpedal to Mid-point and push somebody else.

Nothing wrong with swagger, but it can't be the major factor. I guess this occurred when all of the mainstream Rappers lyrical content went down, they had to find another key component.

I think swagger is part of the whole equation. Most dope lyricists have a swagger about them, since the beginning of hip hop.

I know..It seems people choose to consider an MC to have Swag over skills most of the time now... Most rappers with a large fanbase now have it becuase of swag not becuase of there skill...

I think having a confidant personality is important to a persons image.
The people who have it stand out more.
Rakim definitely had it.
Slick Rick, Rick James, Prince, Morris Day,
Ice T, Biggie, Tupac, Aundre 3000, Snoop, just
to name a few.
These people really stand out, and it's not just
the music,
it's their style.
