It seems to me that a lot more people dislike it than do like it, yet it continues to be holiday tradition. And, everyone has a strong opinion.

Like many things, it depends on the recipe. I always thought it was nasty growing up, but two years ago my mother found a decent recipe, we messed around with it a bit, and now it is awesome! Of course, I still stay away from other people's fruitcake ;)

It's okay, as long as it doesn't have those nasty citrons in it. I would eat almost any other Christmas dessert before I got a piece of fruitcake though.

There's actually only 5 fruitcakes in the world.

They just get regifted every year.

Yes, I do. But it has to be a good grade of fruitcake, not cheap stuff.

I never did, and then I tried it this year and notice it's not that awful. I just don't like one thing in it, the same thing that's in hot crossed buns, it just has a weird taste to me.

i like fruit cake but i hate marzipan and glace cherries which mum put in and on top. but it makes u fart.
