Yes, all are searching for something or other. Sometimes, physical needs, sometimes psychological ones, at times materialistic, some spritual, some one for petty things, some for more valuable things. Some search for the Ultimate Truth of life. But most people loose the track and go for meaningless comforts in life.

I think we are all searching for something that will make our lives worth living. This search is not optional:

"There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. Deciding whether or not life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question in philosophy. All other questions follow from that." (Albert Camus-philosopher and writer)

Mostly we search for our worth in the eyes of others through real and imagined praise. We're always looking to have something or do something that will earn that praise. And since people forget, we have to continually re-earn our worth.

Love is the exception. Real love doesn't require us to earn our worth.

No. Most people are, myself included, but it seems that a rare few (Buddist monks?) have either found a calling or have learned to just take what life has to offer without asking for more.
