I want to save enough to buy the iPod classic 160 Gb. and I usually get maybe around 170-200 bucks. So I have to keep on saving. How can I keep myself from spending it?

Classic problem that will never go away in your life. You have some money and need to save more for some financial goal. You have to figure out how to do it so that you aren't a financial wreck for the rest of your life.

Get some ads or pictures of the iPod in question. Put them with the money, put them in your wallet as a reminder of what you are saving for every time you go to spend money. Ask yourself if that bottle of GatorAde (or movie ticket, or whatever) is more important than that iPod that you want.

Adults do this mentally ALL OF THE TIME to save for houses, kids college educations, retirement, etc.

Imagine now that you have a credit card and just for your signature you could get that iPod. It would be tempting, wouldn't it? Now you know why so many people have so much trouble with credit card debt. Until you can complete this particular mission of getting the iPod by saving, you don't seem ready to get a credit card either!!

good luck!

will power == just do not use it == if you know where you are going to buy it you might consider putting the money down to hold it -- than if you did not come up with the rest you will lose your money plus the ipod!!!

Put it in the bank OR get someone you truly TRUST to hold it for you while you save up.
