He would say, and correctly so:

- that the law relfects the will of the voting public,
- and that he if anyone should know that one has to stop being stoned in order to advance any ideas politically,
- so far for the last 70 years, 100s of millions of marijuana users have not been able to organize effectively politically despite evidence they would succeed because they have chose to prefer remaining stoned and accept a small legal risk over not being stoned and doing the hard work of political change.

want an example? look in the mirror :)

Seriously, this is such an FAQ here it is asked every hour. Use the search box on this page and contact the stoned guys (almost always a guy for some reason it seems) that asked the same question as you and get organized.

I bet if you contact them at all you will just share whiny stories about how someone else would do the work for your benefit and then share tips about smoking.

And I am one who would support you if you were organized, but no way I am going to invest in participating politically if you can't get out there and produce your own interested and effective leaders.

So get to it and kwitcherbitchen.

Choco nailed the argument. But if you want my 2 cents...

He would laugh slightly remembering his troubled youth of prep schools and misspent college time. Then sturnly he would look at the cameras documenting the event, and inform you that drugs are addicitive. That your addiction fuels the economic goals of others waging wars and mistreating others. That a line was drawn to which drugs were truely harmful, and to back off from that line would be to endanger that which brought us to the present.

Just because something is less harmful, does not make it right. Only in the rare cases of things like alcohol and tobacco, evils of which this country had founded it's economy, had exceptions been made. Precident overrides principle in many cases, and in writing the laws that legalized alcohol and tobacco, it did as well.

The question you should be asking is, why do you find it necessary to bother the commander & chief on something so trivial while there is so much on his plate?

He'd say that a majority of all voters, represented by their senators and representatives, want and support the laws that make marijuana possesion illegal.

The President isn't to blame for ruining your fun. Its your mom, dad, your neighbors and the people down the street. Its the people whose tax money pays for the rehab centers and the ambulances and the jail cells that drug abusers end up in.

Try talking to those people about why they've ruined your fun.

People elected legislatures who voted it that way.
