I always help them out, cause i don't want them to hate literature and poetry or even give up on it all together. I believe we should give a boost to their creativity and interest. Give them the key points or a helpful website or an important literary work as a point of reference, so that they won't be lost in the sea of confusion. But i won't write them a full poem or essay though. We shouldn't encourage laziness and procrastination. =)

Some of those kids just want an easy answer and not have to do the work themselves...I wouldn't help in that case...someone who seems to be sincerely in need of help I would answer the question. No reason in this day and age with the internet that most of those questions cannot be answered by the asker just doing some research on the subject.

My own children needed to start their homework Friday afternoon...do more Saturday morning, and if there were still more to do, that would be Sunday afternoon. I helped, but I did not do it for them.
As far as the kids at this site asking for help...again, I'll help; give them a place to start. I will not do it for them, though. They will not learn anything if people continue doing it for them.

No kids to help here, but I suppose I would help them if I did have some. And I suppose I would be grumbling about the new math or something else along those lines. LOL

Luckily, I make my kids do their homework on Friday so we have the whole weekend together
(they still don't like that idea tho LOL)

I agree. I usually don't help because they need to learn, silly children that they are. The American educational system is already pretty downtrodden, I don't want to contribute to the continuing decline on test scores.

Hehehee...good point.
(to the answerer below me...he isn't referring to helping hiw own children, but just students in general who post their homework questions here...at least...I'm pretty sure that's what her means)

LOL, I so relate to this, but I think what might have been as annoying was being alerted at their bed time. "OH, BTW, I need 64 cupcakes for School, in the morning."
Sleep well this night.
