Im not sure what you can do about it now... this might help...
If you haven't already, cut a few inches off the base of the tree, and shave off the first 4" of bark further up the trunk, and fill the water container with Semi-hot water. Not boiling, just hot from the tap.
This will promote stronger water uptake.
BUT, keep in mind, just because you just bought it two weeks ago, doesn't mean it was cut two weeks ago. Even if they guy who sold it to you said it was fresh, it may have been cut as late as thanksgiving. If it is really that old, then there might not be anything you can do about it.
Good luck!!!

I agree with the sugar idea! But you can also go to a gardening center and see if the have a packet of Christmas tree preserver. I used it before on my trees and it worked like a charm. Also have used the sugar works just as well and its safer if you have small children or pets

try putting sugar in the water. Also when you did you cut a bit off the bottom of the tree after you cut it down or bought it from the tree lot that would help as well.

throw it out before you burn your house down and kill everyone in it. Trees are dangerous.
