I can't figure out why anyone would get offended by someone saying Merry Christmas. I mean it's Christmas we are celebrating. No one is going to stop me from saying it. I don't care how offended they are. If they don't want to celebrate the holiday then they can go off and be scrooge just leave everybody else out of it. It's the same thing with trying to make Santa say, " Ha, Ha, Ha." With this stupid stuff I feel like I am in grade school all over again. People need to grow up.

I say "Merry Christmas" because I celebrate Christmas. I am a Catholic that believes Christ was born on that day and He was a gift from God.
I think its stupid that some consider saying it is politically incorrect. People should say whatever they believe in, whether it be Merry Christmas, or if they do not celebrate Christmas, happy holidays, happy haunakah (sp?), whatever the case, is perfectly fine. to each his own. Everyone has the right to believe in what they want, but just because a person does not celebrate christmas, does not give them the right to take away the joy other people may get from it by classifying things associated with christmas as "politically incorrect."

I used to say "Merry Christmas" without hesitation....but I am more hesitant than I used to be about this. I put "Seasons Greetings" in the personalised Christmas cards I sent out last year...because I was not 100% sure how "Merry Christmas" would be received by some people. This year's Christmas card reads "Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and all the best for 2008". I think all of my friends will accept that.

Merry Christmas. I hate it that everyone in this day and age has something to say about every phrase that's been made over the last million years!
Merry Christmas is a perfectly fine way to wish someone a happy holiday!
what the hell.

I like happy holidays becuz there are other religious holidays at this time of year such as Eid for Muslims and Hanukka for Jews. 'Happy holidays' can be apply to everyone whereas 'Merry Christmas' can't. But I do say 'Merry Christmas' if I KNOW the person is a Christian.
