Noelle is definitly a shy girl name. How about Dana as well?

As for the clique-ey girls, I hate to be the one to tell ya, but popular names are what seems to pop into everyones head. How about...

Christina Lowery
Bailey Barlow
Nicole Kramer
Madison Rindle
Kate O'Reilly
Tess Jackson

OOH, boarding school drama. The usual gossipy nothings, until one of the clique-y girls gets pregnant? Is she shunned? Who are her true friends?

Maybe someone's sister dies and she goes emo and the cliques shun her even more.

And a teacher should seduce someone. Definitly.

Best of luck!

Well Noelle Hunter seems quiet and kinda nerdy to me personally.

Scarlett (which doesn't have an e) Halls isn't very pretty. You should also watch out since that would make both your characters so far have the same later for their last names which isn't good in book characters.

A few first names could be:
Pearl
Victoria
Claudia
Marisol
Helena
Ruby
Blake
Livy
Ursula
Lydia
Arabella

Last names:
Weston
Miles
Highmore
Cain
Caplan
Xander
Collins
Murdox
Rosetti
Warren
Clark
Slaten

Those are a few suggestions. Do you have any ideas for what will happen in the story yet?

No girl at a posh boarding school would be named Scarlette Halls or Noelle Hunter, unless they were on scholarship. Those girls are makin' chalupas at the Taco Bell on Route 410.

A few thoughts on types of names affluent girls might have:

* Old family surnames as first names, even if they're not exactly names: Sheridan, Mills, Hunter.

* Extremely classic names: Elisabeth, Olivia, Isobel, Eleanor, Sara.

* Stripped down names: Sloane, Blair, Paige.

* Elegant, literary names: Sabrina, Celeste, Portia.

* Old lady chic names: Esther, Ivy, Iris, Harriet.

* Quirky nickname names: Margaret called Daisy; Victoria called Toto; Barbara called Bay.

I might also suggest, kindly, that if you've never attended a boarding school, this is going to be a really tough setting to get right.

Noelle Hunter sounds like the shy, naive girl.
Scarlette Halls makes me think snobby/preppy, and not necessarily party animal.

Cool Girls:
Blair Montgomery
Reese Kennedy
Annabelle Chase
Bella Mackenzie
Alexa Carmichael

Party Girls:
Ivy Wakefield
Edan Ramsden
Francesca Blake

Hope this helps!

Names don't make them popular attitude does.. You have many options for this:
1) Close your eyes and toss open a phone book on the floor and point, deciding before you do if your doing first or last
2) Go to a baby name site and click on a random letter
3) Combine the two
or ( and this is my favorite)
4)Mull it over......leave a blank for names (or say girl one or girl two etc) and eventually you will be walking down the st. and suddenly something will trigger the perfect name or you will wake up in the middle of the nite w/it..........I call this letting the character name themselves.

I don't want to offer you names because I want you to "raise your characters" with out interference, so one last piece of advice and I will let you get to it---sometimes you find a name that the character really wants but you hate? try a different spelling---or add an ending........Good luck!! Remember nothing is permanent til it hits the bookstore shelves so have fun and don't worry!!

Noelle Hunter - more of a party girl than Scarlett Halls
(on the prowl or hunt, came to mind)
Scarlett Halls - sounds like she is quiet and reserved. (blending into the woodwork in the halls, came to mind)

Ideas:
Victoria Van Dusen - rich girl everyone calls Tory
Samantha O'Connor - always getting into trouble with the nickname Sam or Sammie
Elizabeth Cole - dark character, nicknames Lizzy or Bethy
Nicole Darling - sweet and quiet, Nikki
