The volume of a solid is 42cm^3. Find its dimensions using a polynomial method.

Hmm. I guess they want you to solve (x-1)(x-2)(x+3) = 42.

The answer, obviously, is 4. So how shall we get to it?

Well, multiply out the LHS. Subtract 42 from both sides.

The constant term is -48. One of it's factors is 4.

Something like that is probably the idea.
