It is most likely a hardware problem. The problem may be at the memory or the motherboard. Try to remove the dust inside of your computer. Pull out the memory chips. Inspect the contacts. Clean the slots and reinstall the chips. If that does not fix the problem, try to use different memory chips. Motherboard problem may be harder to diagnose.

1.http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/Windows.htm Better info than I could fit on here. Check it out! By the way, Norton s..cks! Try AVG, Avast, & Spybot Search & Destroy.,(All free, or have free versions). Norton just messes with a person's computer. Some swear by it, not me! I don't need a virus, put on my computer to find other viruses. Okay, now just relax, go away from it for a little while, then come back. See, isn't that better? LOL! EDIT: There is one thing I found one time. The power on switch would stick on, on this one computer I was working on. Drove me crazy! (Really, see my avatar? Little brown beedy eyes! LOL! Mine are blue.)

If you have an Xp it actually could be Windows causing your computer to restart non-stop. Windows is trying to do the whole automatic update thing to Xps because Vista isn't going over as well as they thought it would. So they are installing crucial updates to the Xps.

If not try running a virus scan.

Does your Norton is updated? Have you check your RAM? Remove your RAM and install it again. Good luck!

Is it overheated?

If it over heats and you don't give it a chance to cool down it'll just keep shutting off.
