I use the wi-fi usb connector to go online, and Ive been getting messages that I need to update my wii. I am concerned that If i do so, it will brick my system, because I have it chipped with the wii key. Does anyone know if it will or not?

my friend has one of those she looks on a website about the chip which has forums where people give the O.K. to update the wii without it frying the chip, i would just use the updates that you get when you play games not when you check for it online look around on public wiikey modchip forums

Well I am not sure about the chip you have in there or what it does, but if you have it in there and it is something illegal, then do not update. They have updates so people can not use there Wiis with it.
Some updates are just for new programs and program upgrade
