im breastfeeding my 3 month old,, and it still hurts to pee,, im scared to go back and get stronger meds,,i dont want to quit nursing my baby, i was thinking maybe its a yeast infection.if i bought that stuff for it do u think that would help?

Go back to the doctor, or at least call. See a different one if you prefer. You did not say how long you have been on the medication, or if a urine specimen was collected.

The antibiotic may take a couple of days to give you relief. The antibiotic you are on may not cover the specific organism that is causing the infection. Modern antibiotics are are effective against a host of bacteria, but no one antibiotic kills every single type of bacteria. A different antibiotic might kill the bacteria you have, and still be safe for the baby.

Also are you drinking even more water? You need the extra water to support milk production, as you probably know, and to flush out your urinary system.

Go back to the doctor. But don't stop taking the antibiotics. Whenever you are prescribed antibiotics it is very important to take the full course of medication. Otherwise you could make the infection harder to get rid of.
