Yes you can. You can do anything with the right amount of cash. It's cheaper and easier just to leave them be.

You probably can, but why?? GM had mammoth troubles with their rear disc brake calipers for years. You are lucky you have the drum brakes. GM could seem to balance the pressures in their brake systems and their rear calipers would freeze up, causing the front brakes to overwork. This would transfer most of the stopping power to the front brakes, which would wear out sooner. You are better off with what you have!!!!!

Yes, they can be converted to disc brakes, but there is no reason to do it, and the expense would be ridiculous.

The rear end would have to have extensive work done on it, coupled with replacing (obviously) the drums with rotors, and so on.
