I'd prefer every country (state?) have freedom of religion. Unfortunately, they broke the mold when the made the good old US of A.

Israel is a secular democracy. Non Jews can buy pork, drive and work on the Jewish shabbat, and do whatever they like. Everyone has freedom to worship and live as they please.
Israel only wants the Arab world to accept her right to exist, that's all.

Actually, Israel is basically secular... and Jewish.
In other words, it is a Jewish state that is not a theocracy based on Judaism but a democracy in the similar vein of other Western style democracies.

No. Israel was founded on Judaism. They are a democracy and have chosen to be a Jewish state which is what a democracy does. It lets the people decide. If you don't want to live in a Jewish state don't move to Israel.

Should the vast number of Muslim countries surrounding Israel be secular, as well?
When you say, "shouldn't," you need to qualify.

Yes it should be secular in the interests of peace, one religion should not be paramount over the others.
