Best sites would be Orbitz or Expedia or Yahoo's fare tracker to get a idea of what is out there.

I would suggest you set your maximum airfare factoring in how many stops you are willing to put up. Find 2 to 4 sites like Orbitz or Expedia you like and start searching. Before you buy from a site like Expedia, go to the actual airline's site and see if they are less. When you find a fare you can live with I would probably buy it because I doubt there will be a significant drop as time goes on.

That being said I still would occasionally reprice my purchased itinerary up until the trip, especially if you buy direct from an airline. If the price does drop for the exact same flights you are on, you should be able to at least get a credit voucher for the difference for a future flight. I do that with United routinely.

As mentioned, try the usuals like Expedia or Travelocity. Personally, I don't like the Travelocity Fare Tracker because it's misleading--lot's of "bites" but few things that fit all of my criteria: price/date/departure/return, etc.

What worked best for me (when I was flying OUT of Seattle, round-trip) was Priceline's "Name Your Price" feature.

You can do a little research on the flight prices and go on Priceline and name a price and, possibly, get a ticket for that price. The only problem is that you have to be CERTAIN that you want that specific date/time for your ticket because if your "offer" is accepted, they'll charge your credit card immediately.

Don't know where you are coming from, but I'd try JetBlue. They are a fairly new airline and have alot of direct flights between select cities to and from Seattle. I flew to New England last fall from Seattle and got a really good deal; better than other airlines or travel sites.
