im just wondering because i want to buy one, but last year they were sold out everytime, and because its alot easier to ask here than go to stores and stuff, im just wondering if one can walk into a store and buy a readily available wii yet?

It does depend on the area you live in and what stores are available.

One poster reported they live in a city that consists mainly of elderly people--and haven't had much problem finding Wiis in stock at the stores because there's just not much of a demand for them there.

I live in Chicagoland and bought yet another Wii yesterday morning at a Best Buy that had 29 available for the Sunday morning sale. I got there at 6 am and waited on line until the store opened at 8. I was number 22 in line, the people at the front of the line got there at 4 am. By 7 am I would estimate at least 200 people drove up to check the line and left when they realized they were too late.

No. Most stores have been sold out for a month now and when they do get a few in stock they sell out in minutes. Online stores have them but the price is almost double. There expected to be more plentiful in jan or feb.

No it is absoulutely neccessary to wait outside the store before it opens to even have a chance at getting one today i was in line at Target at 5am-8am i was number 54 in line out of 72 people that got one the second person in line got there at 10pm the night before....it will be springtime before they are readily available

i just got mine today and had to stand outside the store for about 45 mins.... so it depends on what store you go to. I went to a Target and stood outside while my relative went to another Target about 15 mins away and walked right in and bought one. There was no waiting in line at that store. So it depends on the store you go to.

Wii is actually becoming harder to get (holiday season duh). Since that happened they have to do something that no other video game console company has ever done before. They have to make a rain check and tell people that they will get there Wii's sometime in January. If your luck you can go to your local best buy, wal-mart,target ect and see if they have any.

P.S. You can always get one on ebay (if you want to spend more)

NO!!!!
I'm still waiting for one but they say if you go to Gamestop on the 21st, you can buy the receipt and you can give it to them later when they order them and come to the store
