my computure just suddenly turned off when i went on this website so when it turned back on i scaned for virus' and spyware and found a trojan downloader in the spyware scan but nothin in the anti virus ( i ran both of them at the same time.) i was wondering if a trojan downloader installs the trojan right away because i'm not sure if i have 1 or not. is it a good idea to run a virus scan and spyware scan at the same time or do they interfere with one another?

Not all trojan are considered as virus and not all anti-virus care about trojan.

When you run virus scan, you cannot run spyware scan. although you can click them but the computer is still doing them in sequence or in thread. The processor just jumping between two scan. This allow once reject the other and also vulnerable to attack during jumping.

It is good to have an internet security suite to integrate anti-virus and anti-spyware together.
