I do not live in the St.Louis area, but I go there frequently. I am from the Kansas City area and i have to say, they are very similar. There is a lot to do and so much to see. The people there are very friendly and you should make new friends fast. where are you origionally from?

St. Louis is a little more laid back than Chicago but is a friendly town. Once you move here, there are lots of places you can go to meet people. Go clubbing, join a gym, go to the casinos, join an amateur sports team, get friendly with the people in your neighborhood and office, go to coffee shops, go to concerts. Where ever you met people in Chicago you can do the same thing here.

O.J.'s coming to live in STL? I wonder if he will be bringing all his sports momentos? LOL!

STL is a great place to live and all you have to do is pick up a copy of a free paper distributed every Wednesday called The Riverfront Times. They have all kinds of ads for clubs/restaurants/massage palors/etc...This will help you get acquainted with some things to do in 'the Loo'

I didn't check your profile, so I don't know if you are a male or female, but STL has 3 major sports teams, and it's always nice to meet someone new, while attending one of these games. The WestPort Plaza area has restaurants and clubs to which to meet people.

Keep in touch and maybe we can go out for a drink sometime.

It can be tough trying to meet people in a city deemed as very dangerous.

If there are groups that specialize in helping you meet people I would suggest it. Also, just be active in the community. You'll start meeting people. I'm timid, so that's hard for me to do, personally, but there are ways of meeting people. Strike up a conversation with somebody. St. Louis is a big sports town, so that may be something interesting and less-controversial to talk about.

try looking for a Meet Up group, there are many in the St. Louis area.
For a really friendly area with a lot of nice bars, restaurants, and coffee shops, try the South Grand (Tower Grove South area), it's the best!
