I used to use my nickname. Spent quite a bit of time on the Politics and Government forums...real lively place.
I attracted 4 stalkers...I think they might have been buddies - but don't know that for a fact. It didn't matter what I asked or how I answered, they'd thumbs down or flag me. It got tiresome; I mean, this isn't my life...just a place to idle away a few hours.
So, one day, I had enough. Changed my name to "outta here" and left a goodbye to the folks I enjoyed on the forum.
Too bad, really. I dabble around over there once in a while but just scroll around..no answers or other participation.

I know where you are coming from, but that is the price we pay to retain our anonymity. I personally dislike those who come on to answer questions simply with 'why are you asking this, the answer is so obvious' or 'what a stupid question' (unless it is in response to trolling, in which case somebody needs to discourage it). Usually those who say this things are focused purely on their own beliefs and seem to not be aware of others alternative ways of thinking, which is what this site is all about. Anonymity is important in this forum. Many people will speak about their beliefs under their psuedonym in a way that they don't in real life or under their real name. It allows people who are genuinely curious and perhaps a little scared to explore concepts they otherwise feel they couldn't. But yes, there are some cowards. There always will be.

After a great deal of thought - for I always felt I was a traveller through life, my final destination was elsewhere. It is another matter though that physically too I had to do quite a bit of travelling during my working life. As for the avatar, well that is another story. I wanted anonymity, clicked on the avatar that promised it and was stuck with something that is rather misleading. Your question made me wonder. May be it is time I changed it to something else.

Isadora the Beady-eyed Dragon is the logo for my bead store. She is a green, turquoise and yellow lady dragon with a big red bead in her arms, and lots of beads trailing off her body. Sorry I can't show you what she looks like, but here is a link to an article about the store that I just found, I actually didn't know it was there. Scroll down to Aug 2006 P 4, a couple of articles down.

There are also several sites about the vegan restaurant part of the business, if anyone is curious.

I loved the movie Driving Miss Daisy when it first came out and have watched it several more times through the years. That's where I got the name Miz D. I don't resemble Jessica Tandy at all (Miss Daisy) but admired her acting. Morgan Freeman was very good in that movie too.

Country Girl just seemed like a natural for me. I live in the woods in a small town.I appreciate the many attributes of the country and am truly a country girl in my heart. A few years back I was a caller for several years on a radio cooking show. I was known as Country Girl there as well, and it's always seemed like a good fit for who I am

I got sick of seein' my name in print, so I made up a new one & ended up with a new set of problems due to guilt by association of other sites & users with the same spelling.
I decided to settle for the KISS principle. Keep It Simple Stupid & that's just what I did. No more fancy avatars or names. I am just a question mark & a keyboard character!

because I LOVE Basset Hounds !!
I have one entire room in my house that is filled with every thing Basset Hound you can imagine - running out of room on the walls for pictures, and when I get more figurines, I'll have to put up more shelves !! and that doesn't count the clothes in my closet, the pillows, throws, sheets etc !
I have been owned by 3 in the past, 1 in the present and who knows how many I've fostered for a Basset rescue !!!

It's the only nickname
I've ever had that wasn't a shortened version of my full name. Got into fight one day with BF he started telling everyone what a Hurricane I could be, somehow after that my friends started calling me stormy, I use it on anything that requires a name.
