I loved all of Will Smith's movies.
I grew up watching him in Fresh Prince.
But I think being released so close to Christmas actually helped the sales better because since it's soo cold, people would pay to stay in the warmth of the theater a little longer. Also since its so close to Christmas, more people are available and can use this as an opportunity to do something together.

The trailer really sold the movie and Its a remake of the Omega Man...So of course a lot of ppl old and new generation was gonna go see it.

It's Will Smith! He gave an amazing performance. I think it could be 10 below zero and people would still go to see him.
