imagine a straight triangle (the one with 90 degree angle)
it is 29.4 m tall. The apple travels along the hypotenuse, which should be longer than that.
I assume the apple rebounded from the wall and then Kathy caught it.
So
it for sure traveled for longer than 1 second (29.4>24.5)
Did it travel a LOT more? I don't think so.
My answer is 2 sec

29.4 = 24.5t -- 4.9t^2
=> t = 5/2 + √(25 -- 24) = 5/2 + 1/2 = 3s

h = 24.5t - 4.9t²
29.4 = 24.5t - 4.9t²
4.9t² - 24.5t + 29.4 = 0
t² - 5t + 6 = 0
(t - 2)(t - 3) = 0
t = 2s ....... on the way up
t = 3s ....... on the way down
