1. describe the physical environment (temp, humidity, light, exposure to water and wind erosion) a few days after a forest fire in an area where the fire has burned the vegetation, but left the soil intact

2. how will pioneer plants change the physical environment during the first stage of successsion so that the pioneer plant species are eventually erplaced by other species?

3. would the situation described above be an example of primary or secondary succession?

4. predict how the forset fire will affect species diversity in this area over next 100 years?

The first step in this is to think.

You can do it. If you're clever enough to use a computer you can sit down for 15 minutes and thinking about this.

Learning is the pursuit of answers. Not having them given to you.

Some points to ponder over...

1. A few days after a forest fire...

How would the temperature be like? Hot? Warm? Cold?
Would the air be humid or moist? Or would it be dry?
How would rainwater impact the exposed soil?
How would wind impact the exposed soil?

2. During the first stage of succession...
Would the pioneer plants grow to great heights?
If so, how would the other species replace them eventually?

3. What do you understand by primary and secondary succession?

4. Will there be more different species of plants and animals in this area over the next 100 years than before the forest fire occurred? Or will there be fewer? Would the ashes help to make the soil more fertile, encouraging growth of new plants?

All the best to you. :)
