Brodeur insists on playing out his contract (ends after the 2011-2012 season) so it will be a while before they have to do anything.

They are planning on using Jeff Frazee (2005 2nd round draft pick) as his back-up in 2009-2010 and hopefully he'll be ready after 3 yrs as a backup

Marty still has quite a few years left on his contract. He will be 40 when it expires. After that its up to him. The Devils will retire #30 and a new goalie will be picked up. I figure Brodeur will use the last 2 years of his playing career mentoring a new player then try and have him ready for the Devils when he leaves.

He will not retire for awhile; I see him going longer than Roy did, so he should play for at least another five to six years. He will go down as the second best goalie ever, next to Roy, and the Devils will retire his number 30 without hesitation and New Jersey and other hockey fans will worship him forever. It is impossible to tell who the Devils will put as their goalie after that because it is so far away. It is impossible to tell whether the Devils will be a good team or not because again, it is a long way away and the team roster will look totally different.

good, Marty Brodeur is a devil, I propose he had to flow to a winner and to boot Devils the only winners searching for a objective comfortable may well be chicago, so their have been fairly purely 2 thoughts for Marty and it wasn't like the hawks have been gonna upload marty and their gonna be favourites to win the cup, yet yeah i think of he made the splendid call i think of its purely perfect Brodeur retires with the team he gained 3 stanley cups plus it would desire to help motivate Parise to additionally re sign with the devils

Retire number 30.... then get a new goalie, struggle for a while because their new goalie doesn't fit their system perfectly... play around with different goalies for a while, possibly change their style of play.

Just a wild guess. But they will retire 30.

Yeah for sure they will retire 30. But I think that they will become one of the lower teams in the league, just because every team goes through a period where they are unstoppable and then a period when they are horrible
