I've read that it's a joke and not real but then other sites have said it is real. If it is real I would love to see a clip.

It IS a joke. No such ST:TOS (Star Trek: The Original Series) episode ever existed. An internet writer named John Scalzi wrote a joke list of failed Christmas specials that was picked up by the former National Lampoon website The link below has the original article.

Some ST fans spread this as fact but no such episode was even written, much less produced (and I've been a fan [and "armchair researcher"] of cult-classic TV since I can remember (and I've read just about everything on all versions of Star Trek).

The ones "Little Snarky" said, and there was a Deep Space 9 episode where they went back in time to the origional Enterprise, they went back to the episode with the Tribbles, and meshed the old and new show, it was so funny and cool. They showed one of the modern crew throw a tribble, and then showed a clip from the origional show where a tribble flies out of nowhere and hits a guy on the head, so it looked like the modern dude threw it. Neat!

I think you may mean Shoreleave. Set on the fantasty planet. Where every thing is make believe. Some episodes name got changed when they reached Germany and other countries and then came back again. So it looks as if they are different episodes. But after translation to and then from look like two seperate.
