I don't want to sound discouraging, but when both are virgins, it can often be a bit of a puzzle. Dial down expectations. If you know your bodies well, then things will be better. But you should definitely use a lot of lubricant--only use things designed for that purpose. So only something like Astroglide or KY Jelly. It will hurt less and things will go more smoothly. Go slowly, and have lots of foreplay. Don't listen to the guy who said that you shouldn't use a condom! Of course you should use a condom! It will still feel great for him, and it might slow things down a bit for him, since a lot of guys get excited a bit more quickly than they'd like. An advil or other painkiller/muscle relaxant beforehand might be good.

I wouldn't have wanted to be on top the first time. Just make sure that you're well lubricated whether from fore play or something like KY jelly. That'll make a HUGE difference. Also, try your best to relax. You're going to be nervous, but try to anyway. When you're tense, it'll hurt more. Don't expect it to be great. Most first times are not great. If you're expecting it to be great, you'll likely be disappointed. I don't mean that in a mean way, but virgins for the most part don't know what they're doing (obviously) so just don't have your expectations so high that you'll be disappointed. Your first time is one that you'll remember forever.

As long as you are in a good open communicating relationship you'll figure it out. Don't think too much about "what am I supposed to do" but instead think of what sex means and learn what feels good. That's real cool that you are both virgins. :)

First and foremost use protection. First time or not, you don't need to get pregnant and you can. Just follow your instincts. Have a lot of foreplay and don't do anything until you are truly ready.
