Unfortunatly my pickup is a 4x4. I live in MCAS Miramar San Diego and i'm having the base auto shop work on it.

mine cost $1587 but i got a bodykit and nwe muffler installed so like subtract couple hundred

Repairs could be a couple hundred dollars, or more. Depends on what's wrong. Sometimes it just needs more fluid, or minor repairs.
If you have to replace it, that gets expensive.
Probably $1500 to $2500 dollars. On the higher end if it's a 4X4.

It is a Ford Ranger so there is no magic on these and if it costs more than 1800 to overhaul shop elsewhere. You could get a slavage yard one for a lot less and do it yourself in the Auto-Hobby Shop???????? or pay these guys to put in the "used" one.
What did they say was wrong with it???

between $2000-$5000 depending on where you get it done and who does it...(higher end, Mazda and they will back the work...) since we don't know where you are, it's hard to estimate.
