And do you think what the big families on TLC are doing is similar to this, exploitation of children?

I've read that the father sexually molested them and when they moved into the house the parents and other children abused them and saw them as strangers.

They told their priest about the sexual abuse, and he said to wear thick coats when going on trips with their dad and to love them anyway.

Like that would seriously help (roll eyes in sarcasm).

I don't get bad vibes about Jon and Kate but particularly the Duggars rub me the wrong way, I don't know what it is exactly but I've noticed some creepiness about them.

Here's a site that recaps everything about them. That was sinful what the Canadian government and that doctor did to that family just to make money of those little angels. They literally stole them from their parents.

I don't think Jon and Kate Plus 8 are doing anything remotely same to their children to what happened to the Dionnes. The Dionnes were basically sold, and made an attraction, like a freak show. They were put completely on displace, in a room that had glass windows so that people could pay a ticket and come in and see them, they moved around from place to place, with different people, never having a real set place that was home. Having a camera crew in your house is a lot different.

I think the Dionne Quintuplets are one of the first sets to survive and they were in the news when I was a kid. I'm not into seeing big families on reality TV. I think the families need all the help they can get, and I wouldn't call it exploitation. I think there's a need--physically and financially--and people step up to help.

Hmm, guess I was wrong. I just read about the Dionnes on Wikipedia and they were exploited and they became wards of the State.

well first you don't know anything about the Dionne Quints. the parents did not exploit the girls it was the Ontario provincial government that made them the wards of the state. They did build then a new home{presently used as an old aged home in Corbiel}The parents barely had any influence on their own daughters upbringing it was the provincial government that made all the money from these poor girls and their family

They were Canadian (I think) and people treated the children like freaks because they were put on display.

The difference is that the Dionne family was thoroughly unprepared for what happened and had no idea how all the publicity would affect them.
