many birth control methods can take up to a month to start working effectively. she should wait until that time to have sex without a condom. she should have asked the doctor or read the box or asked whoever gave the bc to her. they should have explained this to her unless she bought it off ebay or found it on the street...hopefully not.

No, I believe most bc pills take 7 days. Even then nothing is 100% I would recommend using a condom or some other form of bc as well if she isn't ready to be a mommy.

depends, was it a sunday start or a day one start? The packet gives information on when you can have sex. I think the rule is day one start *starting th epil the day of your sstarting period* then you can have sex right away, sunday start you have to wait a full seven days. However, birth control pills aren't 100 percent effective, so using a condom too wouldn't hurt.

I think when I was on them it was recommended to go one full cycle before going unprotected but for assurance I would wait two full cycles. 4 days is surely not enough.

it usually is a good idea to wait a month. They usually tell you that when you get the pills. it doesn't start working immediately.
