Allegory? Element of fantasy? Humor? Humor meaning? What type of Irony? Plot? Theme? Author's style? Central purpose? Commercial or literary? How and why significant is the story's purpose?

If you can't answer any of those questions after reading the story "many times", you are way behind the curve and need to get help fast. And I don't mean asking people on YA to do your homework for you. If you have a friend who understands what's going on and is willing to take the time, read the story over with him or her and have them explain it to you. If that's not going to work, go to your teacher or whoever and get some tutoring.
