I'm planning to go to Vegas for my Birthday. I've looked up ticket prices but their a little expensive in which I am waiting to see if they go down. Now with hotels.. I don't know which would be the best one to stay at. I was looking at the Palms resort..but it's about 10 miles away from the strip so it would consist of us constantly getting a cab..or shuttling on the bus. Now.. I wanted to post this question to see if anyone has any good ideas on any hotels on the strip I could possibly take a look at and has good prices..???. Thanks

The Palms isn't 10 miles from the strip .. but not somewhere to walk from either. A cab would be in order. If you want to stay on the strip for a comparable price then try Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, NYNY or for a more younger crowd try Planet Hollywood.

Don't count on show prices coming down .. doesn't happen here especially with the major shows like all the Circue shows. If you check into one of the hotels that has a big show like that see if they have discounts for guests. Some do.

No the Palms is NOT 10 miles from the Strip, more like 1 mile.

Go to www.lasvegas.com and www.vegas.com for the prices on rooms and shows. The best prices are Monday thru Thursday except holidays or when a big convention is in town.

Prices will NOT go down. They are consistent to the time of the year. Check out the individual sites for each casino, too.
Palms, Venetian, Wynn, Mirage are expensive. Try Imperial Palace or Tropaicana for good prices or Excalibur

The Palms is not 10 miles from the strip. I doubt it's even a mile away.

I've always found Monte Carlo to be one of the best values on the strip and it's a nice place to stay; but this time of the year it will be difficult to find many hotels with any great deals at all. I've also found that each hotels' website offers better prices than hotels.com, vegas.com and websites like that.

The Palms is not far from the strip...sure you'd probably need
a cab at night...maybe during the day too only because you have to go across a busy overpass...

What I found out is that it's always better to shop around and read each hotels review. I used these tips on my last visit and saved a lot. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/cheap-hotel.html
Just remember room prices changes from day to day, so your arrival date makes a difference.
