Christianity preaches 'turning your other cheek'. In a sense, a Christian nation can not invade another nation, and can not defend itself by causing aggression on its perpetrators?

Mel: I have read the New Testament. Where's the answer? Please do tell. Is it okay to kill? I mean Jesus did come back and abolish the ten commandments and replaced it with basically "love is all you need." But then again, why would you kill your enemies if you love them?

You're mixing the parable given by Jesus in the New Testament and taking it too far. It is meant that that slap is an insult rather than a threat to your safety or life. So shirk it off. But elsewhere the Bible condons killing a thief entering your home at night. Fighting invaders, defending especially children and widows to the death. There are also verses that say you have the duty to protect your neigbors and neighboring nations against invaders or unjust tyrants.

It's not a Christian nation. But as far as a nation following Old Testament, my vote goes to Saudi Arabia, an Islamic nation. They follow the 10 Commandments to the letter. And if they are under treat of invasion, they don't fight back. They hire the US, UK and other nations to do their fighting, dying and killing for them. As far as a real Christian nation existing? Not in the past 2000 years. And I expect not until Jesus returns for his 1000 year rule over the entire earth.

If there ever was one, it wouldn't long exist! There have been nations that called themselves Christian but none of them were ever truly Christian because they all broke the rules of Christian doctrine by aggressive expansion under the guise of spreading Christianity to other nations. Many in this nation(U.S.) call us a Christian nation, wrong, we are a nation of many religions & we certainly are not non-aggressive, we don't turn the other cheek to anyone, we are ready to do battle with any other nation, whether it is for our good or not!

No way! Not all of us conform, it's impossible to prevent.

These are some famous atheist. Where would we be without them.

Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Edison, Andrew Carnegie, Benjamen Franklin.

Our nation needs diversity!

There have been Christian nations in name, but generally they do not follow what Jesus would have wanted them to do. Turn the other cheek is a perfect example: they never do that.

There is no proof in the bible that Abraham was an idol worshipper. But some say so ,because the land of Haran, he left was a land of idol worshippers. That is the one reason God called out Abraham from the land of Haran. But through out his life he kept his faith in the god and never worshipped any idol.

No. The depravity of man causes an imperfect society. It would never be a "true Christian" nation.
