call the humane society or a local wild animal help center, they may let you use a live trap to catch it. I have a havaheart trap for raccoons, cats, etc that I use, just put a open can of cat food in it and set it in your attic.

lol, deadsmurf has the right idea. But if that doesn't work, remember that racoons are nocturnal. So, find out how they are entering the attic and wait until they leave to go foraging for the night. Then close up the entry way they have found or created. Good luck, they are crafty critters and determined to do as they please.
Other than that, a trap is in order.
But do something as quickly as possible before they decide to start raising a family up there.

Buy of borrow a Have-a-Heart trap bait it with a can of opened dogfood and wait. Check at least daily go around and look for his entry point to your attic and close the hole. Once the Haveaheart trap has him He will me safe to move out to the nearest woods, he of she might have a family to care for so don' take him too far away. upon releasing the animal remember that a lot of raccons ae rabbid an avoid a bite with great care when you release him, best idea though is call an animal controll officer, and let him take the risk.

Well...I wouldn't put a raccoon in my attic at all!
Check the yellow pages for, um, animal trappers?

Contact a professional. Raccoons can be very vicious, especially when caged or cornered.

Use a live trap. If you kill it it will stink up you're house. Try to find out how it gets in and plug the hole. Be careful, they can be very mean.
