I have a breeding pair of convict cichlids and the babies from their latest batch have all grown to be about a centimeter or two... about four however are a pinkish color and they haven't changed into the dark color of the siblings. Are they sick? What should I do?

Your parents may have had a parent of their own that was an albino (pink convicts). If the pair you own are siblings (and if you bought them at the same time from the same place, that's a good possibility), both could be carriers of the albino gene, even though they show the normal coloration themselves. By probability, roughly 1/4 of the offspring should be albinos in that case.

They may also be what are called leucistic - these resemble albinos, but still have dark eyes (rather than the pink of a true albino): http://www.aquamojo.com/misc/Pink%20Convict2.JPG true albino: http://www.centralpets.com/critter_images/fish/freshwater_fish/FWF_0004517_20020103133016.jpg
