We've no idea what you think is required for females, you know!

But in short, the answer's yes. You need to be prompt, directable, energetic, and tolerant of rejection. Because as with acting, the criteria are subjective and variable.

And as somebody else said, you want a REPUTABLE agency, one that figures to make money by representing you and taking a percentage of your pay. Any place that instead takes everybody and charges you to put together a portfolio is probably making money by selling portfolio services--which would be an honest business if they didn't call themselves a talent agency when they aren't!
