Communists exhibit a degree of ILLOGICALITY THAT VERGES ON THE INSANE!

I was a member of the SCOTTISH UNION OF MINEWORKERS, run 60 years ago by a rabid Communist, Abe Moffat, when I was a kid of 17.

I was taught that workers were in a class war! In our coal mine if we worked real S L O W the bosses would be hurt! And if we managed to BANKRUPT our coal mine WE HAD WON THE BATTLE as the 'bosses' would join us in the gutter!

Also, it is better we all starve to death tonight than share our food and let one man survive until the morning!

Another thing if there was a good intelligent man and the management promoted him to a 'foreman' he must be BOYCOTTED in every way as he is a turncoat who has joined the BOSSES in their perpetual class war against the workers!!

Needless to say, I realized the craziness of the union leaders so I left the pits and went to University and came out a Doctor (it's an easier life and the pay is better too!) I'm retired now and the MINEWORKERS UNION HAS VANISHED COMPLETELY and it had over 300,000 members when I was in it.

I have never lived in a country that is communist but I have lived in a country that is socialist. Socialism is a form of communism but it is not as extreme. I can give you a few examples of the way a socialist government works by the experience I lived while living in Nicaragua during the 80's.

Prior to the socialist government, known as the Sandinistas, Nicaragua had a democratic government that was capitalist. As in the U.S.A., there were people who had the opportunity to attain ample wealth and power and there people who lived in poverty. Unlike the U.S.A. however, those who possesed much of the wealth and power in the country were few and the dividing line between them and those living in poverty was extremely thin. The reason that this was occurring was that the government was not helping those living in poverty but instead satisfied the desires of the elite.

The many years that the people of Nicaragua lived in this circumstance sparked a rebellion that eventually brought a new government, the Sandinistas. One of the most important changes that the Sandinistas wanted to implement was to help those in poverty by providing them with benefits that are fundamental to the well being of any citizen. These benefits included free healthcare, education, and property. In order to do this, the Sandinistas started taxing those who possesed wealth and power to raise funds to help the poor. Those in poverty quickly reaped the benefits and rejoiced from what the Sandinista government was doing for them. There was a sentiment that the Sandinista government was for the people.

However,

When the elite discovered the plans of the Sandinistas they quickly panicked and started to migrate from the country. In doing so, they also sparked news to Washington that the Sandinistas were communist. That was the begining of the end of the Sandinistas since Regan became determine to destroy this new government and created a war by funding weapons to mercenaries in neighboring Honduras to attack Nicaragua. After almost a decade of war and economic crises due to the war and also an economic block from the world created by the government of Reagan, the people of Nicaragua voted out the Sandinistas from government.

This subject need a lot of talk. But to answer you in few words I give you some links to read about.

First keep in mind that communism started as a political and economy philosophy, but in the end in countries that exhibit communism become more like a dictatorship.

The best example is China (one of few countries that exhibit comunism) where the freedom of speach and write just don't exist.

And communists, or countries that claim they have communism today, they not follow exactly what Engels (the man who wrote the political communist manifest) and Marx (the man who wrote the economy communist manifest), declare in their wrotes.

Google ,CNN, and Yahoo, had to blue-pencil themselves in order to gain access in China's market.

Different is for example the page of Yahoo news in States and different in China.

Also a firwall deny access to certain websites for all the Chineese. That's an example.

Other countries with communism are, Cuba, North Korea,
Vietnam, and Laos.

Now to see what in theory communism is and how it started see link bellow:

Also to see what communist believe for their system see here the opposite opinion:

Hi I came from a communist country so I'll answer. I'm from the former Yugoslavia. We had a lesser form of communism called socialism. Under communism everyone is equal and they have equal wealth. Religion is usually discouraged because it is said Christianity was made just to make the Church rich.

Communist countries: Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, China, North Korea, Cuba, etc.

none of their farts stink

Lenin said that Religion is the opiate of the masses

I say that Communism is the opiate of the intellectuals.

Many countries flirt with a brand of Communism like Cuba, China and the wannbe Venezuela

A dictator uses the idea of Communism to get the support of the intellectuals and idealists to take over the country.

The state owns all means of production.
The workers belong to the state.

we believe that it's wrong that over a billion people in the world dont have access to clean water

we also believe it's wrong that 18 million people die every year because of poverty and poverty related causes such as lack of food

so maybe our compassion stretches further than that of capitalists, whose primary aim is simply to make money, no matter what damage it causes the environment and people

some of us also believe that god has had thousands of years to fix things on earth, but he hasnt done anything, so maybe he doesnt exist

taco breath is both offensive and amusing

Communist people exhibit behaviour that is undemocratic. They often believe that they have the God given right to rule over others regardless of what others might think.

They believe that power comes from the barrel of a gun.
