Anyone know much about this? How likely would I have it if my sister has it? She is a stage 5 I think. It is gentic but I don't understand how that could be. My mom and everyone else had kids with no problem. I have a big family.

It is possible that you could have endometriosis. One of the things that they are finding (and not sure yet how this is happening right now but it's one of the things being researched in relation to endo) is that in some families there is a specific gene showing up in the blood of women who have endo. Oxford University did a study on the subject several years ago and I wanted to participate in the study but couldn't at the time. I never did get to find out what the end result of that study was.

My half sister (from my dad's first marriage) and I both have endometriosis but I have it worse than she does.

There is a lot of research going on in relation to endometriosis to try and understand all its different aspects. I just don't know yet if there is still ongoing research in to the family connection with endometriosis at this time.

Also, not every woman with endometriosis has problems having children. For some the reason why is because of having had as much of the endometrial implants cleaned out by their doctor during surgery. Each case of endometriosis is so different which is why a lot of research still needs to be done to figure out what causes it and other factors.

If you have additional questions for me please feel free to
e-mail or IM me privately any time.

Hey I was once identified with endo @ 15 and was once briskly referred for a laproscopy (a surgical approach in which they make an incision to your navel and situation a tiny digicam within to have a squiz approximately your ovaries and so forth to seem for any endo - it appears gross like little cysts) and when you do have any they're going to then make a different incision both aspect of your navel for his or her scalpels and tongs after which actually "slice" off the endo. The operation is rather painless despite the fact that u do believe a little delicate circular the stomach for a well month. The operation has an eighty five% luck fee (that means that for eighty five% of endo patients it is going to under no circumstances develop again). Being at the tablet additionally is helping to sluggish down the progress of endometriosis. Talk in your GP approximately it however I could strongly endorse it - its modified my lifestyles :-)
